National Society of Master Thatchers – Annual Conference
Hampshire Fire & Police Headquarters, Leigh Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire SO50 9SJ
22nd and 23rd of March 2019
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the National Society of Master Thatchers have worked together during the past three years looking at minimising the damage in the event of thatched fires and of course looking at ways to reduce the numbers. This collaboration has resulted in the production of a fire service video, which explains the construction of a multi layered roof and the method of removing it quickly and safely in the event of a fire. In addition our three-year, and continuing study of thatch fires has produced some interesting data, which should be of interest to a wider audience. The two-day conference is open to everyone.
In addition to formal presentations and viewing of the video, there will be practical live demonstrations of tacking thatch fires together with a variety of trade stands. Book early places, particularly for day 1 are filing up fast.
